The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Marine who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Lance Cpl. Jessie A. Cassada, 19, of Hendersonville, N.C., died Jan. 6 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Daniel was going to be my brother in law. He and my sister got engaged 1 month before he was deployed. Daniel was killed after being deployed only 1 and 1/2 months ago. He was a good guy, and my sister loves him very much. His death seems so senseless to me, and the family has no more details regarding it other than "non-hostile". Daniel had everything to live for, and we don't even know how he died, which makes the greiveing harder, not having any answers to why or how....
